Situated at the heart of Dunfermline, the charming Carnegie Conference Centre makes for a perfect and beautiful venue for a variety of events and functions—especially conferences!
About Dunfermline:
Located in Fife, Scotland, Dunfermline is a historic town with a rich heritage that dates back centuries. Nestled on the northern shore of the Firth of Forth, Dunfermline holds a prominent place in Scottish history and is renowned for its cultural significance. From being the ancient capital of Scotland to being the birthplace of notable figures, this town has left an indelible mark on the country’s past and present. The town thrived as a royal residence and centre of power, witnessing the coronation of many Scottish kings and queens at its grand abbey, which stands as a testament to its medieval grandeur.
Dunfermline is best known as the birthplace of one of Scotland’s most beloved historical figures, Andrew Carnegie. Born into humble beginnings in 1835, Carnegie emigrated to the United States and went on to become a steel magnate, philanthropist, and one of the wealthiest individuals in the world. His legacy lives on in Dunfermline through the Carnegie Birthplace Museum, which pays homage to his life and contributions.
In addition to its historical significance, Dunfermline offers a charming blend of old-world charm and contemporary attractions. Visitors can explore the picturesque Dunfermline Abbey and Palace, which showcases stunning architecture and a glimpse into Scotland’s royal history. The town’s vibrant cultural scene includes theatres, galleries and an array of events throughout the year, showcasing its artistic and creative spirit!

Accommodation Recommendations:
There are several accommodation options near the Carnegie Conference Centre. Here are a few recommendations:
*Please note that since we are using a conference centre this year, there are no designated hotels for all attendees, including members of the Conference Organising Committee. All of the options above are recommendations only—we do not earn a commission or any form of compensation for suggesting these hotels/accommodations. We highly advise you to check with the accommodation provider directly for the most accurate information and to make reservations in advance to secure your preferred option. Our biggest top tip is to find a conference/travel buddy and room share! Or you can do what some of our colleagues at JCI Aberdeen are doing to save on costs: they rented an Airbnb and another group managed to find a short-term vacation rental via Booking.com.*
More information will be posted soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email president@jciscotland.org.uk.
