We would like to invite you to our next event hosted by JCI Alba – A new provisional online organisation set up by JCI Scotland.

We are looking to target the untapped opportunities that encourage Young Professionals to engage in conversation about meaningful topics that are relevant to our modern society and develop the skills that are core to all aspects of successful leadership.

Dialogue is not just about discussing topics but it is when ‘human beings listen deeply enough to each other to be changed by what they learn’. Being open to change is deeply meaningful in the world in which we live, having our beliefs system is important but what do we do when we are challenged? Dialogue is all about having an open discussion, where the topic is the centre and there are no sides. This allows the participant the opportunity to develop solutions to challenges and ultimately look at taking action that has meaningful impact.

We hope to achieve this by providing opportunities for young professionals to engage in dialogue.

These include:

* Developing confidence, empathy, critical thinking, and other 21st Century skills

* Increasing awareness of our common humanity while also learning to engage constructively with difference

* Developing listening skills, mutual respect, challenging points of view and accepting that others think differently to you, creating a platform for change and action

* Creating engagement and collaborating on initiatives to improve a community

* Providing an enjoyable and enriching learning experience.

We will follow a ‘learn & do’ model, where we will first discuss some of the techniques and key skills and then give you an opportunity to put these into practice during the session.

We encourage all JCI members and guests to take part in this training. You will learn how to engage in better dialogue, supporting you to become a strong facilitator and conversationalist. This will help us to open up discussions, develop interesting and relevant ideas and solutions, and enhance abilities to influence key decision makers.
