We are so excited to announce that JCI Edinburgh and Invisible Cities are partnering in 2022, as they become our official community partner this year.

Invisible Cities is a social enterprise that trains people who have experienced homelessness to become walking tour guides of their own city. The organisation’s high quality training empowers their guides to create, craft and deliver tours that are their own, highlighting monuments, people and places they have chosen themselves.

This year, the JCI Edinburgh theme is ‘creating impact, inspiring change’. To make this vision a reality, we are concentrating our work around three of the Sustainable Development Goals: good health and wellbeing, reduced inequalities, and sustainable cities and communities.

We felt that Invisible Cities aligns perfectly with our ambitions for this year and we’re delighted to be supporting the organisations wonderful work.

Our partnership has already started strongly at the JCI Edinburgh Burns Night where we invited Invisible Cities guide Angus to not only talk about Robert Burns, but also read one of his world famous poems. During the evening all guests raised funds to support the ongoing work of the organisation and we were delighted to raise just under £300 for Invisible Cities.

We cannot wait to continue working Invisible Cities – and we already have our next joint event lined up – a Leading Women panel on 30th March in support of Women’s History month.
